This specimen was lot 11425 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €145 (about US$151). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. 1/2 Riksdaler, 1833 - CB. Stockholm Mint. Karl XIV Johan. NGC EF Details--Cleaned. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." The reform of 1830 terminated the 1/6 and 1/3 riksdaler and introduced the 1/32, 1/16, 1/8, 1/4 and half riksdaler. This type was struck 1831-33 and 1836-38 and is not common. Another reform in 1855 would supersede this coin with a two riksdaler riksmynt.

Specifications: 17 g, 0.750 fine silver, 31.5 mm diameter, lettered edge; this specimen 16.95 g.
