This specimen was lot 1445 in Stephen Album sale 30 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2018), where it sold for $258.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN: Carl XIV Johan, 1818-1844, AR 1/3 riksdaler largesse, 1818, largesse money issue for the Coronation of Carl XIV Johan, hairlined, semi-prooflike, very attractive, AU, Ex Dr. John Lund Collection." Largesse referred to the coin thrown to the populace at major occasions such as coronations and funerals. In Sweden special types were produced which weren't officially coins but circulated extensively, probably because of a shortage of coinage of good silver.
