This specimen was lot 185 in Schulman auction 385 (Amsterdam, July 2025), where it sold for €1,700 (about US$2,405 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Sweden - Plate Money 2 Daler SM 1712, Copper, CARL XII 1697-1718 Corner stamps: Crown over date. Center stamp: 2 DALER / SOLFF: MYT / Crossed arrows. Copper from Stora Kopparberg. R. Falkensson lists 15 specimens in private collections. Two minor edge nicks. Very fine." The SCWC notes four different catalog numbers for two daler plates of 1712, possibly to denote the different mines of origin, as follows:

  • KM PM42: value above three stars (type I);
  • KM PM43: value above crossed arrows (type II, shown here);
  • KM PM44: value above a B with rosettes ("❀ B ❀", type III);
  • KM PM45: value above large star (type IV).

The copper for this issue of 1710-15 came from Stora Kopparberg and Ljusnarsberg. While plate money was made in large quantities, it was largely exported to other countries which promptly melted them to make other objects.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 2150-2200 g, copper, this specimen 2272 g, ca. 245 x 225 mm.

Catalog reference: SM 159; Delz. 162.
