This specimen was lot 1637 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $5,581.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. Daler Plate Money, 1659. Karl X Gustav (1654-60). 7 x 7.5 in. VERY RARE early plate (Tingstrom: 23 known examples including 10 pieces from the Nicobar). All stamps mildly to moderately uneven. The central stamp about three-quarters complete with two full legible dates. Legend variety in date stamp reads 'SVECO:' A few light scattered contact marks. Dark chocolate patina. Attractive and very desirable. Cut from the corner segment of the original sheet of copper. VERY FINE."
