This specimen was lot 1635 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $1,880. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. Daler Plate Money, 1656. Karl X Gustav (1654-60). 7 x 6.34 in. VERY RARE early plate (Tingstrom: 29 known examples including 10 pieces from the Nicobar). All stamps mildly to moderately uneven, but with full denomination and one full date. Legend variety in date stamps reading 'SVEC:' Some evidence of light cleaning from some time ago. Three small impressions scattered across face. Light brown patina. An attractive and pleasing example for an early plate. VERY FINE."
