This specimen was lot 11029 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Copenhagen, June 2026), where it sold for €463.60 (about US$535). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. Öre, 1625. Gothenburg Mint. Gustav II Adolf. NGC VF Details--Environmental Damage. Deeply toned example of this Gothenburg issue. Despite the planchet's wear, all details are visible. From the L.E. Bruun Collection. Ex: Countship of Brahesminde Collection (Private Sale - 1922). Ex: Johan Scharp Collection (Stockholm - 1851/1853) Lot #443." This denomination was struck in billon and copper from numerous mints. This type is listed for 1625-26 in round and klippe format. The death of Gustavus Adolphus in 1632 completely disrupted Swedish dreams of becoming a Great Power.
