This fifty cents was struck 1920-21 for the Straits Settlements and represents the last issue of that denomination. The region later became the British colony of Malaya and, after World War Two, the independent state of Malaysia. Religious conflicts led Singapore to secede and become and independent city state.
Recorded mintage: 3,900,000 plus proofs.
