Straits Settlements 1862 1/4 cent

Sincona sale 57, lot 3426

This specimen was lot 3426 in Sincona sale 57 (Zürich, May 2019), where it sold for 375 CHF (about US$446 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted,

"STRAITS SETTLEMENTS, Victoria, 1837-1901. 1/4 Cent 1862. Selten. Vorzüglich. (Straits Settlements, Victoria, 1837-1901, quarter cent of 1862. Rare, Extremely fine.)"

This is a one year type along with a half cent and cent. The quarter cent of 1872 used a different bust.
