This specimen was part of lot 23179 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), which sold for $419.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Victoria Trio of High Grade Coppers, 1/2 Cent 1845, ...Average grade is XF-AU." The type was struck in 1845 only while Singapore was a trading station of the East India Company and is scarce in nice condition despite the large mintage. It was converted to bronze for the 1884 issue (KM 8a) and given a reeded edge for the 1889 issue (KM 15) when production for circulation ceased.

Recorded mintage: 18,737,000.

Specification: 4.51 g, copper, 22.3 mm diameter, plain edge.

Catalog reference: KM 2.
