This specimen was lot 30581 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $2,467.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Stolberg-Wernigerode. Heinrich XII gold Ducat 1824, AU58 NGC. A few hairline scratches and nicks in the fields, but barely noticeable unless looking through magnification. This example is essentially as good as this type comes." This is one only two issues from this tiny principality during the nineteenth century.
