This specimen was lot 34631 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it sold $408. The catalog description[1] noted, "Saint Thomas & Prince Island: Republic gold Proof 'Year of the Rat' 2000 Dobras 1996 PR70 Ultra Cameo NGC." This attempt to cash in on the craze for Chinese zodiac coins does not appear to have been a success, as this type is not listed in the SCWC or in Friedberg. It may have been an unauthorized private issue.
