The first specimen was lot 4300 in Sincona Auction 101 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 200 CHF (about US$302 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ St. Gallen, Stadt und Kanton. Taler 1624, St. Gallen. Selten. Sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of St. Gall, thaler of 1624, St. Gall mint. Rare, Very Fine.)"

The second specimen was lot 5493 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 160 CHF (about US$241 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[2] noted,

"SCHWEIZ. St. Gallen. Stadt und Kanton. Taler 1624, St. Gallen. Schön-sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of St. Gall, thaler of 1624, St. Gall mint. Fine-Very Fine.)"

This round thaler was struck 1620-24 and is the only affordable thaler from this canton during the seventeenth century. A klippe version (Dav-4677A) was struck 1620-22 and is much more expensive.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 28.1 g, silver, 41 mm diameter, the first specimen 28.48 g, the second specimen 27.89 g.
