Spain 2018 400 euro
This specimen was part of lot 1435 in Jean Elsen sale 151 (Brussels, June 2022), where it sold for €2,300 (about US$2,873 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ESPAGNE, Philippe VI (2014-), écrin de 4 p. en or: 400 euro, 200 euro, 100 euro et 50 euro 2018. Au module de 8 escudos (27 g), 4 escudos (13,5 g), 2 escudos (6,75 g) et 1 escudo (3,37 g), commémorant le 150e anniversaire de la dernière émission de l'escudo. Titre 0,999. Flan poli. (kingdom of Spain, Philip VI, since 2014, set of four pieces in gold: 400 euro, 200 euro, 100 euro and 50 euor, commemorating the 150th anniversary of the last emission of the escudo. This NCLT was part of a series extending 2002-17, honoring Spanish art and history. This type is as yet unlisted in the SCWC. Friedberg lists this in 50, 100 and 200 euro but not 400 euro.
