Spain 2013 euro rev DSLR.jpg

This issue was minted in Madrid for Spain 2010-14. Like other members of the Eurozone, Spain began minting euros in 1999 but their use did not become compulsory until 2002. The admission of additional members caused the reverse to be redesigned in 2007 to show the enlarged zone. The coin was redesigned again in 2010 to move the date and mintmark.

Recorded mintage: 4,000,000 plus 54,000 for the BU sets plus 1,300 proofs.

Specification: 7.5 g, bimetallic (copper-nickel center, nickel brass ring), 23.25 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM 1150.
