This coin, issued during the reign of Juan Carlos, is one of a series of circulating commemoratives starting in 1992 and ending in 2002 with the introduction of the euro. This type honors the F.A.O., the first Spanish coin to do so. Other topics included the Museo del Prado, the National Library and the Royal Theater.
