This specimen was lot 2863 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN: Francisco Franco, 1936-1975, 50 pesetas, 1957-BA, Ibero-American Exhibition of Numismatics and Medals, a wonderful example, PCGS graded MS64." This issue was struck for a coin show held in Barcelona in 1958 along with a similar five and 25 pesetas. A "BA" replaced the usual issue date on the star in the reverse. The mintage was small but all were saved so that today they are scarce, not rare.
Recorded mintage: est. 43,000.
Specification: 12.35 g, copper-nickel, 30 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: Cayón-17904, KM-788.
