This specimen was lot 3283 in Sincona sale 11 (Zürich, May 2013), where it sold for 150 CHF (about US$186 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SPANIEN Königreich Revolucion Cantonal, 1873. 5 Pesetas 1873, Cartagena. Kl. Stempelbr. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (kingdom of Spain, cantonal revolution, five pesetas of 1873, Cartagena mint. Very fine to extremely fine.)"
Davenport[2] notes, "In Cartagena the Cantonalists, as the extreme states rights party was called, seized control until British and German warships intervened. In September a five pesetas coin was issued from that city."
Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
