This specimen was lot 713 in Goldberg Sale 145 (Los Angeles, February 2025), where it sold for $2,940. The catalog description[1] noted, "Korea (South). 1 Clay Chiwoo Cheonwang, 2022. One pure ounce of fine gold. Obverse: Shield of Chiwoo Cheonwang with two large bull horns. Reverse: Depicts the great Chiwoo Cheonwang in full battle dress preparing to fire a bow and arrow. Gem Brilliant Uncirculated." Chiwoo Cheonwang, or Chiyou, is a demigod in Chinese mythology. In 2016, KOMSCO (the South Korean coin and currency agency) inaugurated a series of gold and silver bullion rounds featuring him and other mythological characters. None have KM numbers. Numista shows this design as a 1/10 oz gold or a 1 oz silver, gold-plated but not this one.
