This type was struck for circulation in South Korea 2006-19, superseding a brass coin (KM 33). It is still in production, tho only for collector sets. With US$1 = 1420 won (as of December 2024), this coin has a face value of seven tenths of a cent. The obverse features the pagoda at Pul Guk temple (now spelled Bulguksa) in Gyeongju city, designated a national treasure.
Recorded mintage: 447,000,000.
Specification: 1.22 g, copper plated aluminum, 18 mm diameter, plain edge.
