Stack's Bowers October 2024 Collector's Choice sale, lot 75686
SB1024-75686r.jpg

This specimen was lot 75686 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2024), where it sold for $3,240. The catalog description[1] noted, "SOUTH AFRICA. 200 Rand, 2016. NGC PROOF-70 Ultra Cameo. A flawless example of a less commonly encountered type, offering bold cameo contrast in addition to a striking design." The cheetah also appeared on a silver two rand of 2016, also unlisted in the SCWC. We think it's a continuation of the Natura series but it does not so state.

Recorded mintage: 5,000.

Specification: 0.5 g, 0.999 fine gold, 13.9 mm diameter, 1.000 troy oz AGW, design by Vincent Chipa.

Catalog reference: Fr-Unlisted; KM-Unlisted.
