S Africa 1976 10 cent rev DSLR.jpg

This type was struck 1976 only in honor of president Fouché. The regular ten cents (KM 85) was not struck that year. Jacobus Johannes "Jim" Fouché, DMS (1898–1980), also known as J. J. Fouché, was a South African politician who served as the second state president of South Africa from 1968 to 1975. His Wikipedia page does not so state but we presume him to be a committed supporter of apartheid.

Recorded mintage: 30,986,000 plus 21,000 proofs.

Specification: 4 g, nickel, 20.7 mm diameter, reeded edge.

Catalog reference: KM 94.
