Aureo sale 261, lot 786

This specimen was lot 786 in Aureo sale 261 (Barcelona, July 2014), where it sold for €350 (about US$561 with buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"s/d. Suiza. Soleura. 1 taler. Rara. MBC-/MBC. (Switzerland, canton of Solothurn, silver thaler without date. Rare, about very fine.)"

Davenport notes that most of the sixteenth century thalers of Solothurn were struck undated, of which this one is typical.
