This specimen was lot 73480 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, June 2020), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "SOLOMON ISLANDS. 10 Cents, 1988. Kings Norton Mint. PCGS SPECIMEN-65 Gold Shield. The only year of issue for the type, this radiant Gem is exceeded in the PCGS census by just two examples. Ex: Kings Norton Mint Collection." A nickel-plated steel version of this type (KM 27a) was struck 1990-2000. The reverse depicts the sea spirit Ngorieru. As of August 2019, US$1 = SBD $8.13.
