This specimen was lot 5435 in Sincona sale 35 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 300 CHF (about US$356 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Wallis/Valais | Sitten, Bistum, Franz Joseph Supersaxo, 1701-1734 Halbbatzen 1722. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Fast FDC. (canton of Valais, bishopric of Sitten, Francis Joseph Supersaxo, 1701-34. half batzen of 1722. Very rare in this condition, About uncirculated.)"
This type was issued by the bishop of Sitten (Sion in French), now part of the canton of Valais. Valais was not officially a member of the Swiss confederation until 1815. This type was issued 1708-10, 1721-22 along with a batzen and a kreuzer and is fairly expensive.
