Silesia 1736 15 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 1004 in Goldberg Sale 146 (Los Angeles, July 2025), where it sold for $78. The catalog description[1] noted, "Austria: Silesia. 15 Kr[eu]zer, 1736. Breslau. Karl VI. Bust right. Reverse: Double eagle. Lightly toned. Pop 1; 1 in 58. Only 2 graded at PCGS. This coin photo in the PCGS pop report. PCGS graded EF-45. The Augustana Collection." This type was struck for Charles VI at Breslau 1733-38. After his death in 1740, Frederick of Prussia invaded and occupied Silesia, setting off the War of the Austrian Succession. Despite determined Austrian attacks, the Hapsburgs were never able to recover it.
