This specimen was lot 2795 in Sincona sale 80 (Zürich, October 2022), where it sold for 2,800 CHF (about US$3,356 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ITALY | Sicily, Friedrich II. 1197-1250. Multiplo di Tari d'oro o. J. (nach 1220), Messina oder Brindisi. Prägung als Kaiser. Gekrönter Adler, Kopf nach links, über den Flügeln je eine Kugel. Rv. Kreuzstab zwischen - - / IC-+C / NI KA. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. NGC MS63. Überdurchschnittlich gut ausgeprägt. (Italy, kingdom of Sicily, Frederick II, 1197-1250, undated multiple gold tari, struck after 1220, Messina or Brindisi mint, struck for Frederick as emperor. Obverse: crowned eagle, head left, pellets over the wings; reverse: cross divides "IC CX NI KA" (Jesus Christ conquers). Rare in this condition, Extraordinarily well struck.)"

Frederick II was German emperor who ruled Sicily 1197-1250. He issued various gold tari from one to ten tari.
