The first specimen was lot 39038 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $750. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. Sicily. Gold Multiple Tari, ND (1197-1250). Brindisi or Messina Mint. Frederico II. NGC AU Details--Cleaned. Variety with eagle facing right." The second specimen was lot 39039 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $1,440. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. Sicily. Gold Multiple Tari, ND (1197-1250). Brindisi or Messina Mint. Frederico II. NGC AU-58. Variety with eagle facing left." The third specimen was lot 39040 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $2,640. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. Sicily. Gold Multiple Tari, ND (1197-1250). Brindisi or Messina Mint. Frederico II. NGC AU-58. Variety with eagle facing left." Frederick II was German emperor who ruled Sicily 1197-1250. He issued various gold tari up to ten tari.
