Shantung (Shandong) Province lies along the coast, south of Beijing, and is both a populous and rich territory. A modern mint operated from 1905-1906. The specimen shown is a copper ten cash. There are many varieties of this denomination, this particular variety is not dated but was struck 1904-1905.
