This specimen was lot 1348 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €410 (about US$553 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWARZBURG, SCHWARZBURG-RUDOLSTADT, GRAFSCHAFT, Ludwig Günther II. 1767-1790. Konv.-Taler 1786, Saalfeld. Vorzüglich. (Germany, county of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt, Louis Gunther II, 1767-90, convention thaler of 1786, Saalfeld mint. Extremely fine.)"
This is the fourth of five thalers issued by this fragment of the Saxon duchies in the eighteenth century. The line survived until World War One.
Recorded mintage: unknown but rather scarce.
