Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt 1768-ICK thaler Dav-2769
This specimen was lot 146 in Schulman auction 389 (Amsterdam, December 2025), where it sold for €750 (about US$1,057 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "German States - Vereinsthaler 1768, Silver, LUDWIG GUNTHER II 1767-1790, SCHWARZBURG-RUDOLSTADT Armored bust right. Rev. crowned arms. Ex Cherry Tree Collection. PCGS Genuine AU Details. Scratch." This is the second of five thalers issued by this fragment of the Saxon duchies in the eighteenth century. The line survived until World War One. This is not a vereinsthaler (18.52 g, 0.900 fine silver) but a convention thaler (28.06 g, 0.833 fine silver).
Recorded mintage: unknown but very scarce.
