This specimen was lot 10138 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Copenhagen, June 2026), where it sold for €610 (about US$703). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. Schleswig-Holstein. Sechsling, 1546. Flensburg Mint. Christian III. NGC VF-25. Rare type. The Royal Flensburg Mint was established in 1544 to replace the Gottorp Mint, which had passed to the king's half-brother. It was in use for only 27 years, and in 1571 it was turned into a bell foundry. From the L.E. Bruun Collection. Ex: Countship of Brahesminde Collection (Private Sale - 1922). Ex: August Christian Mohr Collection (Copenhagen - 1847) Lot # 39." At this time, one thaler = 24 groschen = 36 schilling = 72 kreuzer = 252 pfennig. A seschling was six pfennig or 1/42 of a thaler. The king of Denmark was also duke of Schleswig-Holstein and issued this coin 1534, 1545-46 and 1554 for his subjects there. All have two digit dates.
