This specimen was lot 50130 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $441. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Saxony. 20 Mark, 1894-E. NGC AU-55." This type is common and is a product of the Muldenhutten mint (mintmark "E"). It was also issued in 1895.
Recorded mintage: 639,000.
Specification: 7.96 g, 0.900 fine gold, .230 troy oz AGW.
