This specimen was lot 4328 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €300 (about US$393 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SACHSEN, SACHSEN-COBURG-EISENACH, HERZOGTUM. Johann Casimir und Johann Ernst, 1572-1633. Reichstaler 1601, Coburg. Sehr schön +. (Germany, duchy of Saxe-Coburg-Eisenach, John Casimir and John Ernest, 1572-1633. Thaler of 1601, Coburg mint. Very fine or better.)"
This type was struck 1598-1612 and is fairly common. This division of the Saxon lands lasted 1572-1638. Saxe-Neu-Gotha dates from 1640.
