This specimen was lot 1323 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €420 (about US$543 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SACHSEN-MEININGEN, HERZOGTUM, Georg II. 1866-1914. Vereinstaler 1867. Hübsche Patina, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Germany, duchy of Saxe-Meiningen, George II, 1866-1914, union thaler of 1867, handsome patina, very fine to extremely fine.)"
This is the last thaler from this state and the last issue prior to unification in 1871. A few ten and twenty mark were issued later, all rare.
