This specimen was lot 975 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "SAXE-COBURG-SAALFELD: Franz Josias, 1745-1764, AR 1/24 thaler, 1751-GHE, initials GHE, scarce type with lustrous surfaces, PCGS graded AU55, S." The duchy of Saxe-Saalfeld, erected in 1680 for Johann Ernest, was renamed the duchy of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld in 1735 and survived in that form until 1825. This coin was equal to five kreuzer.
