This specimen was lot 4287 in Goldberg sale 70 (Los Angeles, September 2012), where it sold for $4,140. The catalog description[1] noted, "Italian States - Savoy. Scudo of 9 Florini, 1619. Carlo Emanuele I, 1580-1630. Bust right. Reverse: St. Amedeo standing with 'ff' 9 below. Very Scarce. NGC graded Extremely Fine, Details (Damaged)." The duke of Savoy would not be promoted to king of Sardinia until 1720. This type is listed for 1609-29 but all dates are rare.
