This specimen was lot 30168 in Heritage sale 3040 (Chicago, April 2015), where it sold for $1,233.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Sardinia. Carlo Felice gold 80 Lire 1825 (Eagle)-L AU55 NGC, Turin mint. Lustrous and well-detailed for the grade with several instances of wispy contact on Carlo Felice's portrait." This type was struck at Turin (shown here) and Genoa 1823-31. While not rare, it is scarce, particularly in nice condition.

Recorded mintage: 13,728.

Specification: 25.80 grams, 0.900 fine gold, .746 troy oz AGW, 33 mm diameter.
