This specimen was lot 31722 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $1,116.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 10 Lire 1925-R, MS65 NGC. A choice example of this elusive type with full mint brilliance." This issue and the accompanying twenty lire (KM 8) were the last circulating gold coins of the republic.

Recorded mintage: 20,000 (the SCWC notes that 16,000 were melted).

Specification: 3.22 g, 0.900 fine gold (same standard as the old French ten francs).
