This specimen was lot 20160 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it sold for $2,115. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. Salzburg. Ducat, 1743-FMK. Leopold Anton (1727-44). PCGS AU-58 Secure Holder. Bold strike frothing with frosty brilliant luster. Light attractive tone and excellent eye appeal. Just a light touch of rub of the high points keeps this piece out of the full mint state category." This type was struck 1728 and 1738-44. Later types are very common but this one is scarce.
