Sincona sale 76, lot 1541

This specimen was lot 1541 in Sincona sale 76 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 800 CHF (about US$971 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Salzburg, Erzbistum. Franz Anton von Harrach, 1709-1727. 1/2 Taler 1718, Salzburg. Variante mit dem Münzzeichen Stern (Philipp Heinrich Müller, Stempelschneider in Augsburg). Selten. Vorzüglich. NGC AU55. Feine Patina. (archbishopric of Salzburg, Franz Anton von Harrach, 1709-1727, half thaler of 1718, variety with star mintmark. Rare, Extremely fine, Nicely toned.)"

This prince-archbishop had two different half thalers struck; KM 307 of 1710-20, with his bust (shown here), and KM 310 of 1712-25, with the Madonna and Child on the obverse. Both are scarce.
