This specimen was lot 2077 in Jean Elsen sale 162 (Brussels, June 2025), where it sold for €1,500 (about US$2,079 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RUSSIE, République (1991-), AV 100 roubles, 2002. Trésor des Scythes à l'Hermitage. Encapsulé. Écrin. Titre 0,900. (republic of Russia, since 1991, gold 100 rubles of 2002, the treasure of the Scythians. With capsule and box, Proof.)"
Numista comments, "The New Hermitage opened on February 5 (February 17 New Style) is the first public museum of the world art in Russia. The building of the New Hermitage was erected in 1839-1852 by architect Leo von Klenze specially for keeping the museum's collections of works of art." This NCLT commemorates the 150th anniversary of the museum's opening to the public, it being a private collection heretofore.
