This specimen was lot 1357 in Jean Elsen sale 133 (Brussels, June 2017), where it sold for €630 (about US$833 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RUSSIE, U.R.S.S. (1917-1991), platine 150 roubles, 1979. Jeux olympiques de Moscou. Lutte gréco-romaine. Ecrin et certificat. Flan poli. (Russia, Soviet Union, 1917-91, platinum 150 rubles of 1979, for the Moscow Olympic Games, Greco-Roman wrestling, with box and certificate, proof.)"
This denomination was introduced in 1977 to sell platinum commemoratives and was used on occasion until 1991. The issues now sell for bullion.
Recorded mintage: 14,000 plus 19,000 proofs.
