This specimen was lot 1147 in Stephen Album internet sale 28 (Santa Rosa, CA, July 2024), where it sold for $420. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA: 1 rouble, 1970, Centennial of Vladimir Lenin's Birth; blazing surfaces! NGC graded PF64 Ultra Cameo." In 1970, the regular issue ruble (KM Y134a.2) was also struck but this commemorative is much more common. These were often sold in plastic pouches that accelerated the corrosion of the coin's surfaces; truly choice specimens are now scarce.
Recorded mintage: 99,889,000 plus proofs.
Specification: 10 g, copper-nickel-zinc, 31 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: KM-Y141.
