This specimen was lot 10657 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $441. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. Ruble, 1834-CNB HT. PCGS Genuine--Scratches, UNC Details Secure Holder. 3 spots with light scratches (2 on the obverse and 1 on the reverse), old collection number on reverse. Lightly toned." This type was struck 1832-58 in large quantities but is today very rare in nice condition. The preceding type (Dav-282) is very similar but with a "wings down" eagle.

Recorded mintage: 2,270,000.

Specification: 20.73 g, 0.868 fine silver.
