Russia 1763-SP 20 kopeks KM-Pn38
This specimen was lot 93 in Sincona sale 84 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 140,000 CHF (about US$188,530 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RUSSIA Russian Empire and Federation, 20 Kopecks 1763, St. Petersburg, SPB. Pattern. Of the highest rarity. 100 roubles according to Petrov. 300 roubles according to Ilyin. NGC AU58. Nicely toned. From the Tolstoi Collection. With the expertise issued by the State Historical Museum, Moscow, signed by V. V. Uzdenikov, dated May 8th, 2000."
This is a pattern for the twenty kopeks (KM-C63a.2) which went into production in 1764.
