This specimen was lot 25535 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $47,000. The catalog description[1] noted, "Peter I gold Novodel 2 Ducats (Double Chervonets) 1714, Laureate bust right / Crowned double-headed Imperial eagle with date, AU58 NGC. Lustrous, and boldly struck, with minor contact marks and medium greenish-gold patina. Probably struck during the reign of Catherine II, the Ducat denomination was no longer in use at the time. An interesting, and very rare issue."
