This specimen was lot 20467 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $1,920. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. Poltina (1/2 Ruble), 1706 (in old Cyrillic). Red (Moscow) Mint. Peter I (the Great). NGC VF-25. This very attractive and wholesome representative of the type from this popular Czar exhibits even wear displaying lovely mottled gray patina highlighted by areas of richer coloration amongst the devices and peripheries adding to its originality and pleasing appearance." This half ruble of 1706 is rare, like most of the silver minors of Peter I.
