This specimen was lot 5836 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €850 (about US$1,183 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"REUSS, REUSS-OBERGREIZ, GRAFSCHAFT, SEIT 1778 FÜRSTENTUM, Heinrich XI. 1723-1800. 1/2 Konv.-Taler 1786, Saalfeld. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Prachtexemplar. Fast Stempelglanz. (Germany, principality of Reuss-Obergreiz, Henry XI, 1723-1800, half thaler of 1786, Saalfeld mint. Scarce in this quality, choice example, about uncirculated.)"
This petty state in Thuringia produced little coinage in the eighteenth century.
