This specimen was lot 31494 in Heritage sale 3067 (Long Beach, September 2018), where it sold for $1,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States: Prussia. Wilhelm II gold Proof 20 Mark 1890-A PR62 NGC, Berlin mint. A sunny golden offering with just a hint of cameo contrast. The devices are bold, set within watery reflective fields and displaying only light handling. Currently the finest graded example at NGC, tied with a single specimen at PCGS, also the finest seen by them." This is the first year of the revised reverse. This is probably the most common gold coin of the Empire.
