Prussia 1884-A 2 mark
This specimen was lot 1287 in Sincona sale 66 (Zürich, October 2020), where it sold for 350 CHF (about US$461 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND | Empire | Preussen, Königreich. Wilhelm I. 1861-1888. 2 Mark 1884 A, Berlin. Gutes vorzüglich. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, William I, 1861-88, two mark of 1884, Berlin mint. Good extremely fine.)"
This type was issued 1876-80, 1883-84 from Berlin (shown here), Hannover and Frankfurt (closed 1877). The issues of 1876-77 are common but 1879-80, 1883-84 are scarce. The next silver two mark was issued in 1888 for Frederick III.
